Toney grew up around dog training. His father was an Ol’ bird-dogger. He used to raise and train Brittanies for hunting, so Toney learned from an early age about pet dog’s, working dog’s and how to care for them. Complete K9 was started in March of 2009, Toney does not have a lot of fancy certificates, but his training is hands on and he has many mentors that compete at National and World level competitions in tracking, obedience, and protection. He has competed and did well in AKC, UKC, and IPO. He trains in Search and Rescue and was on Kansas Task Force 1. While on the Task Force, and KSARDA he learned how to train dogs for disaster(live finds) and wilderness(live finds). He became a Certified SAR Tech II in November 2012. Along with that he has also become a Certified Schutzhund (IPO) Helper (a helper is a form of decoy work) in 2009 through USCA. He is currently learning how to become a decoy in French ring. He is an AKC CGC Certified Evaluator and a Therapy dog Evaluator for Love on a Leash.

Why did you want to become a dog Trainer?
I had a horrific car wreck in 2007 and it changed my life forever. My friend and I were thrown from the vehicle. It left my friend paralyzed and it broke my back in 3 places, broke all my ribs, shattered my left shoulder blade and tore my spleen in half. Since I ended up having to have back surgery and 2 rods and 6 screws in my back and 14 screws in my shoulder, it was next to impossible to find work. So I took what I had learned from training dogs and I built my company just so I could eat. By the grace of god my business has continued to grow.

Katie couldn't have dogs growing up, but she fell in love with her best friends' dogs, and they were like her own. Katie got her first dog, a German Shepherd named Ozzy, at 23, and has had dogs ever since. After her 2nd GSD passed away she was to heart broken to get another one, but still needed to fill that void in her life. She decided to start fostering for a local rescue. She loved it so much that she also started to volunteer at the local Humane Society on the weekends. Trixie was her 5th foster and even though Katie fell in love with her immediately, she already had an adopter lined up. As fate would have it, Trixie's adoption fell through and Katie knew Trixie was meant to be hers.
Trixie is a sweetheart, but was very skittish, and scared of men. While researching ways to help her dog heal, Katie learned that training helps build a dogs confidence and strengthens the bond between the handler and dog. This was a no brainer, and Katie set out to find the best trainer for her girl. She learned pretty quickly that Toney was it, so she joined the next beginners' class that he had available. Katie and Trixie were both nervous the first day of class. But, Toney calmed them both down and they started to learn and grow together. As they continued their training, Trixie blossomed into a confident, social butterfly who is now a Certified Therapy Dog through TDI. She also passed her AKC Canine Good Citizen test with flying colors. As Trixie grew, so did the love between Katie and Toney, and a few years after the first class they were married. Katie has a full time job during the week, but she helps with classes in the evenings as well as some private sessions and service work. She has helped train their personal dogs and absolutely loves Search and Rescue training.

Why did you become a dog trainer:
After seeing the transformation in my own dog and myself that came from training. I can't get enough of it. I love discovering what strengths a dog has, and helping them to reach their full potential. It's also very cool to watch other people get excited about training. The bond between a human and a dog is like no other.
